…lkasjdf fuck we’re off to a good starts already RAN CAN LOOK LIKE WHATEVER HE WANTS??? And in his purest form, he doesn’t even have a physical body so he’s more like a cloud of energy 8'|
THAT SAID, he has a constructed body and a usual Glamour so… I guess I’ll… talk about those… His Glamour is what most people are gonna see and that one is… 6’9” YEP, quite thin and long limbed, though not… unnaturally so. His actual body is skeletal and something ridiculously huge like 9’. He weighs notably less then he appear to in all shapes.

OLD. The earth is a few tens of thousands of years old, and Ran is from before the earth was even Created so… old… really really… really… old
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He slouches mostly, but only because he’s so tall he’s used to having to bend towards people so he just… does it in advance laksjdf

WELP his physical body is only a construct so his health… is fantastic???? He really can’t get sick or permanently injured the way a normal person can

Graceful, fluid and s l o w. Really he moves like he’s underwater, so it’s all kind of… eerie, and weird to watch him. He can actually go incredibly fast when he feels like it, but it’s more fun when that’s a surprised ('8

…lasdjf again, he can make himself look like anything so… yep, he can be as attractive or unattractive as he wants. His body suffers from horrorface rictus grin skeleton monster awfulness. His usual Glamour though is fairly pretty if you like androgynous giants with weird hair. He thinks he’s gorgeous 8'| and will sock anyone who says otherwise in the nose. How much of this is genuine vanity and how much is trolling is… hard to tell, even for him.

IT CAN BE WHATEVER!!!! His body has pale, gross, scarred up skin, stretched tight over his bones. His Glamour has fabulous skin, usually on the lighter side of things, though he’ll occasionally experiment with it now that poc are starting to become a more visible part of the culture around him.

HIS HAIR IS FEATHERS. Sort of. I mean the feather idea is there if you look close, but each rachis has been pulled out long like a strand of hair and lacks the stiffness of a proper feather, and the barbs are shrunken and widely spaced. As his hair gets shorter and closer to his head, the strands become more and more feather-like, and he does have a handful of full, real feathers at the nape of his neck.
So yes. His hair is black, and quite light so it moves around a lot. He grows it fairly long and puls it back into a ponytail the majority of the time. A lot of it will fall free into his face though since it’s so light. Without his Glamour, it’s scraggly and unhealthy and much thinner.

He has raven eyes so… completely black and wide set. His Glamour almost always has purple eyes because it draws attention and he’s obnoxious.

A scattering of half-formed calamus on the backs of his upper arms. They’re small enough that they can be mistaken for freckles from a distance, but if you ran your hands over them, they’re rough and obviously stick up out of the skin. Similarly, he’s got rough like… proto-feathers at his tailbone. These are a little more obviously supposed to be feathers, but they came out malformed and short, with only a few short barbs.
Also his unGlamoured shape! Is taaaaaaall and bony, with abnormally long limbs and rather huge hands. It’s got wide, black eyes, pale skin and a nigh constant smile that stretches up its face almost to its eyes. Also with claws and lots and lots of needly teeth all through its mouth. Uhhhh he kinda don’t give a fuck??? Lksjdlfjjk He tends towards suits and waistcoats and Steampunk Land Fashions, but that’s just because he lives in Steampunk Land. He also has work clothes which is usually like… jeans and a t-shirt and a big jacket of some kind. His clothes are usually pretty dark and dull, though he has the occasional pop of color.

Sort of??? I mean he works in a ship yard so his job clothes are tough and not fancy. When he’s not working, he tends not to give a shit, so he’ll either dress like he does on the job or do something fancier. It all depends on his mood.

obnoxious, tends to speak in a higher range then his size would suggest, but his voice can drop down crazy low if he wants to as well

Uh… yes. It’s kinda… vaguely Scottish? But not exactly Scottish, since he’s not really from our earth. But if someone from the regular world tried to place it, they’d probably say Scottish-y. He also calls everyone dear or darling, because he’s an overfamiliar douchebag.

All of… them… 8'| All of the Old Fae can speak any language they’ve heard at least once, so… yes…

Incredibly intelligent… 8'| He’s old as balls, so while a lot of his knowledge comes from experience and street-smarts, he’s also spent a fair amount of time studying books and things when he was just bored out of his fucking mind and needed something to do

He can and really prefers thinking on his feet. Planning ahead is booooring. I mean sometimes if he’s trolling someone he’ll make like an outline of a plan, but once you start trying to get into details he just checks out.

Not logical… I guess intuitive and neither of the other two?? He’s chaotic as hell, so he’s certainly not practical but he’s also cynical as hell so not idealistic either. He’s basically a hedonist who does what he wants with very little care or thought for how it affects other people or what they might do in retaliation.

None???? He’s from… before education was really a thing, so everything he knows, he’s self-taught himself. I think once humanity organized enough to start schools and trade academies and things, he might’ve tried them and then just… flipped away because it was all too slow and boring

Murder… Being a horrible monster… Knives… UH NO OKAY HE… has a lot of areas of expertise because he’s been around f o r e v e r so I don’t even think I can list them all tbh. Cheerful mood-swinging?? His mood shifts on a dime and he can go from pissed off to laughing in a second. Generally he’s pretty… smiley and happy though. It takes a lot to really shove him out of that for more then a moment or two. And he’s… laid back to the point of total apathy?? He doesn’t give a shit about anything goodness gracious

ENTHUSIASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! He loves new things and he’ll get all up in everyone’s business before introductions are even made. He kind of just… loves pushing at boundaries, poking at things until something happens and then watching the fall-out.

Fairy kind in his world are a reactionary species, but he kinda challenges traditions by actually going out and causing a fair amount of trouble himself. So… both I guess??

Everything is funny!!! Seriously. He can find humor in literally every situation no matter how somber he should be. In fact, he often finds tragedy to be the funniest thing of all, and fear in particular will always get a laugh out of him. HE’S AN AWFUL PERSON BASICALLY.

The Fall. Choosing the Seelie. Becoming a raven and also a guardian of a field. Said field burning to the fucking ground. The failure to recover afterwards. Loving a human. Human learning his Name and the horrible decade that followed. Having the human’s daughter. Escaping, quitting the Seelie, joining the Unseelie, quitting them too – basically the whole chaotic attempt to find himself again after he was released. Murdering a child and stealing his hat… 8'| Fathering the redcap as a species. Eventually joining the airship yard where he works now.

Getting attached to anything. Being abandoned or ignored. Caring. Anyone discovering his Name again, and by extension, losing control. He's also pretty severely pyrophobic.

HAHA NOPE. He hasn’t got any lajsdflkjlsdjf I mean, fairies are not prone to having hopes or aspirations anyway? But he’s also a bitter, cynical asshole who lives moment to moment so he’s even less inclined towards having them.

His Name… He will kill someone if they even hint at knowing his Name, like… you don’t even know how much he wants to keep it a secret 8'| Also he’d prefer if the folks at the airship yard where he works didn’t know he was a fairy, but that’s less important to him.

He… loved his Mother? He loved Her for a long damn time. Like, even after he Fell, and even after the Unseelie started making some good points about how pissed off they should be, he had this kind of… unquestioning faith in Her. And then kind of… the rest of his life happened lskdjflsjdf and now he’s just… angry… because he still loves Her and he wants Her to take him back, but he knows the things he’s done and what he’s become, there’s almost no way She ever would, even if She did get over Her cowardice enough to open the Gates again. HE HAS A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT HER AND IT’S ALL REALLY COMPLICATED AND MAKES HIM MISERABLE IF HE THINKS TOO HARD ABOUT IT. So he kinda just doesn’t.

Y… es… all angels, demons and Old Fae laksdj are his siblings technically. The angels and demons he hasn’t talked to since before the Fall. The Old Fae… he’s got varying relationships with all of them. Generally he doesn’t like to have anything to do with them though. Not anymore anyway.
Uh… special mentions go to… the Seelie Queen who he looked up to as a mother figure up until she refused to come help him when he was bound. And the Unseelie king who tried to manipulate him at his most vulnerable and who will probably receive a knife through the eye if Ran ever sees him again. And Cernunnos who is… his master basically, but that’s really only relevant once a year during the Wild Hunt. They tend to avoid each other as much as they can. There’s definitely some bad blood between them );

Yep! He’s got a changeling daughter who is probably… if not dead, then at least pretty damn old. And she had a son. He has done his best to avoid her and everything she’s done with pretty decent success so she probably wouldn’t even recognize him if she saw him. He’s also the father of the first couple redcap, but he has very little to do with them or any of their descendents either. It’s definitely possible he’s fathered a few other kids with various humans but he’s unaware of them if he has.

He doesn’t really have a sex-drive the same way a human does, so a lot of times sex is an expression of something else for him, things like dominance or closeness or because he’s just bored and needs something to waste time.

Uh… technically he’s pretty poor because he has a crappy job working in an airship yard??? But he can pretty much survive on his own so it’s not like it bothers him. He’s comfortable.

He’s a solitary fairy outcast who hangs out with humans and murders people to survive, so… not great!! It’s definitely changed over time. He used to be a fairly respected guardian, and then a servant to the Seelie Queen, and then he just lost his mind… But that’s okay. He was bitter and angry and really wanted that change so he pretty much got exactly what he asked for.

He has a tiny apartment where he crashes when he feels like it. Mostly though, he prowls around the city and the forest nearby and doesn’t really live anywhere.

He works at an airship yard! So he… works on airships lskdjklfj mostly construction and repair kinda stuff. He’s pretty decent at it. No telling how long his entertainment will last before he flips away again though

Uh… yes. It’s kinda… vaguely Scottish? But not exactly Scottish, since he’s not really from our earth. But if someone from the regular world tried to place it, they’d probably say Scottish-y. He also calls everyone dear or darling, because he’s an overfamiliar douchebag.

Incredibly intelligent… 8'| He’s old as balls, so while a lot of his knowledge comes from experience and street-smarts, he’s also spent a fair amount of time studying books and things when he was just bored out of his fucking mind and needed something to do

He can and really prefers thinking on his feet. Planning ahead is booooring. I mean sometimes if he’s trolling someone he’ll make like an outline of a plan, but once you start trying to get into details he just checks out.

Not logical… I guess intuitive and neither of the other two?? He’s chaotic as hell, so he’s certainly not practical but he’s also cynical as hell so not idealistic either. He’s basically a hedonist who does what he wants with very little care or thought for how it affects other people or what they might do in retaliation.

None???? He’s from… before education was really a thing, so everything he knows, he’s self-taught himself. I think once humanity organized enough to start schools and trade academies and things, he might’ve tried them and then just… flipped away because it was all too slow and boring

ENTHUSIASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! He loves new things and he’ll get all up in everyone’s business before introductions are even made. He kind of just… loves pushing at boundaries, poking at things until something happens and then watching the fall-out.

Fairy kind in his world are a reactionary species, but he kinda challenges traditions by actually going out and causing a fair amount of trouble himself. So… both I guess??

Everything is funny!!! Seriously. He can find humor in literally every situation no matter how somber he should be. In fact, he often finds tragedy to be the funniest thing of all, and fear in particular will always get a laugh out of him. HE’S AN AWFUL PERSON BASICALLY.

Human learning his Name and the horrible decade that followed. Having the human’s daughter. Escaping, quitting the Seelie, joining the Unseelie, quitting them too – basically the whole chaotic attempt to find himself again after he was released. Murdering a child and stealing his hat… 8'| Fathering the redcap as a species. Eventually joining the airship yard where he works now.

Getting attached to anything. Being abandoned or ignored. Caring. Anyone discovering his Name again, and by extension, losing control. He's also pretty severely pyrophobic.

HAHA NOPE. He hasn’t got any lajsdflkjlsdjf I mean, fairies are not prone to having hopes or aspirations anyway? But he’s also a bitter, cynical asshole who lives moment to moment so he’s even less inclined towards having them.

His Name… He will kill someone if they even hint at knowing his Name, like… you don’t even know how much he wants to keep it a secret 8'| Also he’d prefer if the folks at the airship yard where he works didn’t know he was a fairy, but that’s less important to him.

He… loved his Mother? He loved Her for a long damn time. Like, even after he Fell, and even after the Unseelie started making some good points about how pissed off they should be, he had this kind of… unquestioning faith in Her. And then kind of… the rest of his life happened lskdjflsjdf and now he’s just… angry… because he still loves Her and he wants Her to take him back, but he knows the things he’s done and what he’s become, there’s almost no way She ever would, even if She did get over Her cowardice enough to open the Gates again. HE HAS A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT HER AND IT’S ALL REALLY COMPLICATED AND MAKES HIM MISERABLE IF HE THINKS TOO HARD ABOUT IT. So he kinda just doesn’t.

Y… es… all angels, demons and Old Fae laksdj are his siblings technically. The angels and demons he hasn’t talked to since before the Fall. The Old Fae… he’s got varying relationships with all of them. Generally he doesn’t like to have anything to do with them though. Not anymore anyway.
Uh… special mentions go to… the Seelie Queen who he looked up to as a mother figure up until she refused to come help him when he was bound. And the Unseelie king who tried to manipulate him at his most vulnerable and who will probably receive a knife through the eye if Ran ever sees him again. And Cernunnos who is… his master basically, but that’s really only relevant once a year during the Wild Hunt. They tend to avoid each other as much as they can. There’s definitely some bad blood between them );

Yep! He’s got a changeling daughter who is probably… if not dead, then at least pretty damn old. And she had a son. He has done his best to avoid her and everything she’s done with pretty decent success so she probably wouldn’t even recognize him if she saw him. He’s also the father of the first couple redcap, but he has very little to do with them or any of their descendents either. It’s definitely possible he’s fathered a few other kids with various humans but he’s unaware of them if he has.

UHH… sdlfkj cry the Kinsey scale kind of can’t apply to him because he doesn’t have a gender???? Basically he’s pansexual… sort of?? He doesn’t really have a sex-drive the same way a human does, so a lot of times sex is an expression of something else for him, things like dominance or closeness or because he’s just bored and needs something to waste time.

SEE ABOVE??? Sex is fun he likes doing it, but he has no particular drive for it. If he suddenly had to stop, he wouldn’t feel like some vital thing was gone. He might miss it, but it’d be more like missing an old hobby then anything.

Daily Life

Uh… technically he’s pretty poor because he has a crappy job working in an airship yard??? But he can pretty much survive on his own so it’s not like it bothers him. He’s comfortable.

He’s a solitary fairy outcast who hangs out with humans and murders people to survive, so… not great!! It’s definitely changed over time. He used to be a fairly respected guardian, and then a servant to the Seelie Queen, and then he just lost his mind… But that’s okay. He was bitter and angry and really wanted that change so he pretty much got exactly what he asked for.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He has a tiny apartment where he crashes when he feels like it. Mostly though, he prowls around the city and the forest nearby and doesn’t really live anywhere.

Books I guess??? Little things to keep himself entertained… He likes shiny things, so he’ll also buy jewelry and stuff when he saves up enough… unless he gets impatient and just steals it anyway lskdjf

He works at an airship yard! So he… works on airships lskdjklfj mostly construction and repair kinda stuff. He’s pretty decent at it. He has a definite advantage because he’s extraordinarily strong, so that’s nice. And he… enjoys it right now? Probably because he’s still learning the trade. No telling how long his entertainment will last before he flips away again though
